Diamon-Fusion® is patented award-winning protective coating technology which can be easily installed on existing surfaces in homes, businesses and vehicles or mass-applied during a manufacturing process. DFI’s nanochemistry is applicable to most surfaces containing silica (silicon dioxide) such as glass, ceramic tile, porcelain, granite and quartz. The chemical reaction of Diamon-Fusion® bonds to form an ultra-thin protective layer of optically clear material which makes the surface significantly easier to clean, increases their brillianc mcwxpkog. longines klockor uke, protects that beauty, creates a more hygienic surface, and eliminates the need for harsh and harmful cleaning chemicals. It can also make glass surfaces more scratch and impact resistant. Click here to learn more about Diamon-Fusion®.
Diamon-Fusion® can be applied to surfaces that have already been installed or in an authorized factory or fabricator facility. If the surfaces has already been stained, Restoration will be required prior to the Diamon-Fusion® treatment in order achieve the long-lasting bond for which Diamon-Fusion® is famous. This method is done at nano-scale levels, which is a length scale of approximately 1-100 nanometer range (1 nanometer is 1 billionth of a meter. A human hair is approximately 40,000 nanometers thick). Nanometer dimensions are at the atomic dimension scale. The bond created in the patented process is a covalent bond. A covalent bond means that the coating shares the electrons with the glass itself, thus becoming a part of the glass. Covalent bonds are approximately 10 times stronger than hydrogen-bridge bonds, which are commonly present in most other water repellent coatings.
The chemical reaction created in the first stage causes a “cross-linked” and “branched” silicone film to be grown from below the surface out. After converting the chlorine atoms to OH groups using additional moisture (chlorine was left at the end of the atom chains after the first stage), a second specially formulated vapor is introduced to the surface.
The second stage ‘caps’ the entire chain of atoms. This unique ‘capping’ substantially increases the hydrophobicity and durability, leaving, chemically speaking, no points of attachment for contaminants and creating a truly repellent charge. A patented nanotechnology, improves and protects the surfaces of glass, tile, porcelain, granite, and most silica-based surfaces.
Surfaces treated with Diamon Fusion® become:
Diamon Fusion® is similar to the development of Teflon®* for cooking pans. While you can cook food in uncoated pans, it is so much easier to clean if you cook with Teflon®* coated pans. If you burn certain foods in pans without non-stick coatings, it often means that you must throw the pan away. Those same foods when cooked in a coated pan, clean up rather easily. The same is true with Diamon Fusion® on glass or other silica-based surfaces. While you still must maintain your Diamon Fusion® coated surface, the time and effort required are significantly reduced. The warmer and dirtier the water, the greater the surface tension and spotting, thus shower doors require more maintenance than other applications.
What's special about treated surfaces is that those spots, if removed every few days, will not stick and can be easily removed with a damp washcloth. (You wouldn't put away your Teflon®* coated pan right after you cooked in it unless you gave it a quick rinse and dry. We suggest, every few days you use a body Loofah glove or a regular body scrubber (sponge). If you do notice a slight build up of grime, simply apply a little soap to the glove or body scrubber and gently wipe over the area, then rinse off with cold water. Simple as that! And all of this can be done while you are having your shower, saving you even more time.
Diamon Fusion® eliminates the need of any HARSH, EXPENSIVE and TOXIC CHEMICAL SHOWER SPRAYS.

I have had a Shower Guard door for about a month in a hard water area of Southwestern New Mexico. The door does not get direct spray, and we squeegee. The door is already spotting terribly, and after Windex, Sprayaway, magic Eraser, and other recommendations from the website, I finally had some results with Kaboom and a Magic Eraser. So much for low maintainance.2 Likes Bookmark 7 March 2015 at 3:56am Thank you for reporting this comment. Undo chisue

The showerguard has an extra price of $785.00 for our new 4x5 tile shower. Waiting on 2nd price. After reading all of this, I'm ready to get a curtain!! Thank you for the inquiry and question about Diamon-Fusion low maintenance coating.
Diamon-Fusion is a patented, easy-to-clean protective coating that forms a covalent bond, creating an ultra-thin, clear protective layer making the surface significantly easier to clean and more resistant to soap scum, bacteria, dirt, weathering and more.
Some of the largest shower door manufacturers in the country use our protective, low maintenance coatings. We also offer a limited lifetime warranty and will gladly provide you the names of our retailers in Ohio that can offer this product.
ShowerGuard is a good coating offered by Guardian but tends to be more expensive and can not be applied in the field.
Thank you again for your inquiry, and we would gladly provide names of retailers in the Toledo, Ohio area. Or you can also ask the companies that you are working with in Toledo for Diamon-Fusion low maintenance coating.

We are a Glass Company in the Greater Philadelphia area. We work with many if the above mentioned names ie:Arizona shower doors, basco, cardinal, alumax, dreamline, century bathworks, etc. We also design and install custom shower enclosures using sourced glass and hardware. We currently install approx. 30 heavy glass showers per week ranging from custom enclosures to standard single doors.
From our perspective we believe Guardian Showerguard to be the premier product in the market for coatings. I've sold clearshield (oldcastle), aquaglide (basco), cardinal c-10, and some others. Like mentioned above if beading and water repellence is your goal look elsewhere from Showerguard. Showerguard is baked in during the float process unlike any other coating so it is true it cannot be re-applied. DFI made the claim that if their fails they come out and reapply. All of the research I have read says any applied coating not done in the factory will not hold up. Guardian however will replace all of the glass free of charge. (We did have one 6 years ago that they came out and re-imbursed us for all new glass) I wouldn't recommend anything other than showerguard to any of my customers. (every one of my quotes includes the option)
Take that for what it is worth, but we put in a lot of these showers and have experimented with many of the different coatings and showerguard is at the top of the pack by far. DFI may disagree, but my experience and research states different. I am however a big believer in coatings in general. If you are going to spend 2k plus the extra 10% or so is worth the money.

As a glass installer for the past 43 years I've used both products with much success but due to the coating on DF, I've gone back many times on service calls ( at no cost to homeowner but an expense for our business not to mention good will ) to readjust a door that has slipped from its hinges. We recently remodeled our master bathroom and built out a large custom shower with glass barn doors. Living in Southern California with hard water, we wanted to take steps to keep our new beautiful glass shower doors clean and clear. We had our previous glass shower doors for 10 years and even though we used a squeegee daily and cleaned our shower on a regular basis, our glass doors ended up etched and with hard water stains. I came across this thread while researching ways to protect our new doors and reached out to Diamon-Fusion since I needed an after market application and the company was also located in Orange County. My initial contact was to see if they could recommend an applicator (yes, I realize that I could have purchased the kit and applied it myself, but we had made an investment in the doors already and I didn't want to chance me not applying the protectant correctly). The company quickly reached back out to me and scheduled a day and time to apply the coating. It has been over a month since they've applied the coating and I love the way Diamon-Fusion makes our shower doors shine! The coating makes it a breeze to keep clean and it is good to know that our doors are protected for years to come. I would highly recommend Diamon-Fusion.3 Likes Bookmark 14 January 2016 at 1:52pm Thank you for reporting this comment. Undo PRO Diamon-Fusion International

As a professional shower door installer, I have used both products ( DF vs. ShowerGuard ) as well as Cardinal 10 and they all do a good job. My main complaint about Diamon-Fusion & Cardinal 10 is issues I've had with the glass door ( heavy 3/8" frameless doors ) slipping from the hinge which results in a costly expense ( no charge to customer ) to go back and adjust the door. I've been told by my glass fabricators that they cover the glass around the hinge while applying this after market wipe on coating. Nor do I like the policy that in the event of DF failure, a kit is sent to the homeowner for them to reapply. We no longer offer DF to our clients and instead offer ShowerGuard which is the only glass coating built into the glass and not an after market spray/wipe on coating. Should ShowerGuard not perform they send me a new door which we replace at no charge to our clients. ShowerGuard has a limited lifetime warranty.
Ironically, I got a call this morning from a customer for whom I installed a frameless door just over a year ago. He had his door coated with Cardinal 10 and the door has slipped from the hinge for the 2nd time and needs adjustment. I had gone back about 6 months ago and adjusted the door. Just another endorsement for ShowerGuard.

DFI, My installer stopped by to inspect my doors when I contacted him regarding my doors and about reapplying DFI at home. Several questions. How does this compare to the original coating? Does this coating wear off similar to Rain-X? A home remedy kit sounds like it is not permanent. But I am not sure, just my intuition. My installer is concerned with what he calls etching, where whatever minerals in the water creates a staining on the glass that is next to impossible to remove. How do I remove that, because applying DFI over that seems to not make sense. He said there is a paste called Sparkle that your rub onto the glass that may help? Please advise. Before I pursue your offer for the home kit, want to learn some more.1 Like Bookmark 19 April 2016 at 12:44am Thank you for reporting this comment. Undo PRO Diamon-Fusion International

and hopefully, a repeat customer after reading our reply! Pardon the lengthy

the installer standpoint we certainly understand your concern of heavy glass
slippage when using coatings – especially those that work very well. However,
it should be noted that although there are instances where heavy shower doors
will slip from the hinge, this can be caused with or without a coating. It is
important to note that DFI also provides custom jigs of all sizes for the hinge area to ensure the glass will
not be exposed to the coating, thus
eliminating any concern of slippage being caused by our coating. Would
this be something that you are interested in?
of the reasons ShowerGuard does not provide a maintenance kit, as the first
means of satisfying an unhappy customer, is because their shower doors product cannot be repaired in the field.
Consequently, if there is a problem with ShowerGuard,
dealers have to go to each site and take out the piece of glass and reinstall
the shower door themselves. This process could prove to be an inconvenience to
the consumer, double the work for the dealer, and may result in unforeseen
damage when ripping out and/or reinstalling the new shower door glass.
