Hublot, kicked off a weekend of celebrations surrounding Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary in New York City. For the kick-off event, the Hublot Fifth Avenue boutique was decked out in several Ferrari elements, from an illuminated storefront in “Ferrari red” LEDs to panel displays showcasing the Hublot Techfram Ferrari Tourbillon Chronograph – the first non-auto ever designed by Ferrari! Music was provided by DJ Pitch One while guests enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres by Chef Pierre Schaedelin.
Notable attendees include Jean-François Sberro, Managing Director of Hublot North America, Enrico Galliera, Global Commercial Director of Ferrari, and Friend of Hublot and former player of the New York Giants, Victor Cruz. The primary Ferrari showcase display is anchored at Rockefeller Plaza in the center of New York City, and additional Ferrari vehicles representing the brand through the decades are strategically located at brand commensurate locations throughout midtown Manhattan, including Hublot’s Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue boutiques. The 1980 512 BBLM, 2010 F10, and 2017 488 GTB Ferrari cars representing “motorsport and performance, past and present” are parked curbside at the boutiques serving as an open-air exhibition for everyone to enjoy!
Jean-François Sberro, Managing Director of Hublot North America, shared: “As Ferrari’s Official Watch partner and timekeeper for Ferrari as well as Scuderia Ferrari F-1 racing team, Hublot has been celebrating 70 years of the brand’s automobile achievements since Baselworld this past March, and we are excited to kick off the celebrations here in New York City this weekend. To commemorate this milestone anniversary, we have created a stunning Techframe collection, the first non-automobile item to materialize out of Ferrari’s design team. This timepiece truly combines the prowess of both houses.”
Flavio Manzoni, Head of Design, Ferrari, shared: “Ferrari is proud to call Hublot not only our Official Watch, but a true partner for many years. We share the same philosophy in our design approach in the world of luxury: at our core, form follows function. Everything we do begins with innovation from technology to high performing material.
You see that in both our car designs and collaborative watch designs. Creating the Techframe did not start with a standard design brief – we were allowed the freedom to draw inspiration outside of watchmaking and bring new energy to a product that was fundamentally different than what we typically produce. We are proud to reveal this latest watch collection for the first time in New York City while we celebrate 70 great years of Ferrari.”
‘Since 2011, Hublot and Ferrari have been fusing the very best of watchmaking and automotive expertise by making uniquely designed watches characterized by innovation, excellence and performance. The first watch was created in 2012, named the Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold with its patented nearly scratch-proof 18-carat gold. In 2013, Hublot then designed a watch inspired by the LaFerrari supercar featuring an historic 50-day power reserve, the MP-05 “LaFerrari”, and in 2016 the MP-05 “LaFerrari” Sapphire. In 2017, to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Prancing Horse, Hublot launched the Techframe Ferrari Tourbillon Chronograph. Designed by Ferrari, crafted by Hublot. To-date, the Hublot and Ferrari partnership has resulted in over 50 collaboration pieces.
